You might wonder why we have written an article about a flight for 2 golfers as we all know that a flight can consist of up to 4 golfers in total.
Our Customer Support team frequently receives questions about clients wishing to play just with the two of them. Or a group of 7 golfers that wishes to book a flight for 3 and for 4 golfers.
Obviously, we understand why golfers would want this, but a golf club does have their own policies. They need to generate a certain amount of money per flight and per day, so it's not possible for us to change this.
On high-end courses like Monte Rei, they will generally not add other golfers to your flight, but during peak season or when the course is fully booked they can still decide to do this.
Tips to play alone or just with your friends
If you want to decrease the likelihood of players being added to your flight, then you might want to check the following tips:
- Play during low season, golf courses will be less crowded
- Book at high-end clubs, they will generally not add people to your flight
- Book last minute and uncheck 'Show partially booked tee times' (see image below)
- Book the entire flight, yes it's costly but then you know 100% sure you are alone
Why not play with other players?
Playing with other golfers often creates long-lasting friendships and surprising encounters! Most golfers do not feel comfortable when playing with others, but every golfer knows that you can have a bad day or that you just started with golf.
The only thing which is important when playing with other golfers is the pace of play. Don't look too long for a ball, pick up your ball if you can't score points anymore and just be friendly.
Fellow golfers can also share experiences about other courses in the area, nice restaurants and provide tips on interesting places to visit. And if you’re lucky enough to play with a local player you will improve your scorecard that day as they can give you tips on how to attack the hole and how to play the greens. What’s the worse that could happen? It might cost you a beer at the end of the game but it’s definitely worth it after you had a great round of golf!
For now, enjoy your round and make the most of your new golf friends!
